Workday Payroll Consultant

The Workday Payroll Consultant will lead the successful implementation of the Workday solution for our customers. The position will work closely with Project Managers, and client teams to deliver a complete solutions for our clients

Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities

  • Identify and analyze business needs and requirements.
  • Lead the Workday **US/CAN/UK Payroll configuration effort.
  • Create and develop functional designs and specifications.
  • Analyze gaps and complete fit gap documentation.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering, design, tenant review and other customer facing sessions, as required.
  • Perform testing, deployment systems integration; including, testing, and executing the pilot/implementation/ deployment of new or enhanced hardware or software.
  • Consulting with clients on a variety of data integrity issues and leading business practices utilizing Workday.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality services and products to clients.
  • Work with clients to identify/resolve all issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframe.
  • Ensure awareness of future functionality in the Workday bi-annual releases

 Qualifications and Experience
  • 2-5 Years Workday **US/UK/CAN Payroll deployment or Workday Payroll Administration experience 
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into business appropriate terminology.
  • Understanding of US Payroll compliance rules, such as overtime calculations, and Shift Differential. Ability to build these functions in Workday.
  • Ability to discuss and understand the Cost Center design implication on Workday Payroll deployment
  • An understanding of Payroll GL reporting is a must
  • An understanding of Union Pay including Prevailing Wages, Certified Payroll, Fringe Benefits, and Step Progression is a Plus
  • Cross Functional understanding of Workday HCM, Benefits, Time and Absence and Payroll is a must
  • An ability to assist customers with designing/defining Earnings and Deduction codes and configuring these in Workday
  • Create and develop functional designs and specifications.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality services and products to customers.
  • Work with customers to identify/resolve all issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframe.

Preferred Skills

  • Up to date Workday HCM/Payroll certification or additional certifications and/or payroll administration/management and tax filing oversight experience
  • Ability to develop complex functional designs, including options for technical platforms
  • Ability to coach others in the execution of the testing, piloting, installation, and implementation activities on schedule and within budget, providing expertise when needed.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • CPP or related certifications beneficial
